Sixteen-year-old Colt Maier finds himself at a prestigious mercenary training school aboard a space freighter, only for the faculty to be arrested by a bounty hunter. With debts looming and the threat of indentured servitude, Colt and his cadet friends form a mercenary company to pay off what they owe, but soon realize that their loan officer is sabotaging their efforts. As they navigate perilous contracts, Colt uncovers a much larger conspiracy that endangers not only their freedom but their lives as well.
