A century after the late 20th century's energy crisis, a group of European explorers embarks on a journey to an unrecognizable America, now transformed by climatic changes and populated by isolated natives and remnants of its former culture. Departing from Manhattan, they traverse a desolate landscape of deserted Holiday Inns and abandoned theme parks, ultimately seeking to uncover a shocking new power hidden in the heart of Las Vegas.
