Anise is excited for a carefree summer filled with surfing and beach time in Santa Cruz, her beloved home. However, when her aunt suffers a serious car accident, Anise must leave California to help care for her three young cousins in Nebraska, a place steeped in painful memories. While grappling with her past in her mother's childhood home, she unexpectedly forms a connection with Lincoln, a one-armed skater who encourages her to embrace new challenges and discover strength in letting go.
