Behind Five Willows

In this enchanting homage to Jane Austen set in historical Korea, Haewon, the second-eldest daughter of a poor family, secretly defies government book bans by working as an illegal book transcriber, passionate about her favorite author, Black Lotus. While chaperoning her sister's courtship with a wealthy gentleman, she must also contend with his uptight best friend, Seojun, the son of a noble whose own hidden love for writing puts him at odds with societal expectations. As their paths intertwine, Haewon and Seojun begin to discover there’s more to each other than meets the eye, leading to unexpected bonds amidst the backdrop of censorship and romance.
