The Unfortunates

In this edgy and humorous debut, a queer, half-Nigerian college sophomore named Sahara confronts the pervasive racism at her elite university, focusing on the disturbing trend of Black students who are mysteriously disappearing. Frustrated by her own struggles with identity, relationships, and mental health, Sahara channels her anger into an irreverent "thesis" aimed at the powerful University Committee. As she grapples with despair and the potential of joining the "Unfortunates," she discovers that she and her resilient community of BIPOC women are not ready to succumb without a fight.
