In 1943 Washington D.C., Virginia Abrams, reeling from her husband's death and a traumatic assault, attempts to escape a powerful political family by changing her identity and moving to Seattle. Pregnant and wary, she finds herself drawn into the lives of her new neighbors, particularly a boy named Tim, whose mother has mysteriously died. As Virginia navigates her precarious situation, she becomes entangled in dark secrets within the apartment complex, where escalating "accidents" hint at lurking dangers. With her anonymity at stake and trust becoming increasingly elusive, Virginia must uncover the truth before it's too late.
