In 1901, English poet and critic Richard le Gallienne released a collection of 261 quatrains from the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, drawing primarily from existing English translations, particularly Justin Huntly McCarthy's prose version. Le Gallienne, despite his lack of familiarity with Persian, believed this ignorance enabled him to prioritize poetic quality over strict accuracy. This audiobook features a fresh recording of his unique interpretation, narrated by Denis Daly.
