Dubliners

Dubliners is a collection of 15 short stories by James Joyce, published in 1914, that explores the lives of the Irish middle class in early 20th-century Dublin. The narratives progress from childhood to maturity, reflecting Joyce's thematic division of the collection. Rooted in a period of intense Irish nationalism, the stories capture moments of epiphany where characters gain profound self-understanding. Many of these characters reappear in minor roles in Joyce's later work, Ulysses.
