The Poetry of Israel Zangwill

Israel Zangwill, born on January 21, 1864, in London to Jewish immigrants, was a prolific writer and influential thinker who made significant contributions to literature and Jewish identity. Educated at the Jews' Free School, he earned a degree from the University of London and became known as ‘the Dickens of the Ghetto’ for his celebrated novel, Children of the Ghetto.
