The Buccaneers

Set in the 1870s, during the same era as Wharton's The Age of Innocence, The Buccaneers follows five affluent American girls who are barred from New York Society due to the recentness of their families' wealth. With the guidance of their astute governess, they embark on a journey to London, where they capture the interest of aristocrats and form advantageous marriages with lords, earls, and dukes attracted to both their beauty and financial resources.
