Richard Garnett - A Short Story Collection

Richard Garnett C.B., born on February 27, 1835, began his career as an assistant librarian at the British Museum shortly after his father's death. Over the years, he rose through the ranks, ultimately retiring in 1899. A devoted family man, he married Olivia Narney Singleton and raised six children while also translating works from multiple languages and authoring volumes of verse, short stories, and biographies. Garnett's contributions to literature and scholarship were recognized with his election to the American Philosophical Society in 1901, and he passed away on April 13, 1906, at the age of 71.
