Notes from Underground and The Gambler

"Notes from Underground" presents the unsettling character of the Underground Man, a bitter and contradictory figure grappling with his disdain for modern society and indulging in self-imposed misery. In contrast, "The Gambler" offers a more personal narrative, following Alexey Ivanovitch as he navigates the throes of addiction and unrequited love for the enigmatic Polina Alexandrovna. Both works delve into themes of torment and alienation, showcasing Dostoyevsky's exploration of the human condition.
