Choephori

Choephori, or The Libation Bearers, is the second play in Aeschylus's Oresteian trilogy, focusing on the pivotal reunion of Agamemnon's children, Electra and Orestes. As they seek revenge against their mother, Clytemnestra, for Agamemnon's murder, they are supported by the chorus of libation bearers, who encourage their quest for justice. This play is a vital part of the only surviving example of an ancient Greek theatre trilogy exploring themes of revenge and familial loyalty.
