The Oresteia

In The Oresteia, Aeschylus unfolds the tragic tale of the cursed royal house of Argos, beginning with King Agamemnon's victorious return from the Trojan War and ending with the dramatic trial of his son, Orestes, who seeks vengeance against his mother for her betrayal. The courtroom scene features the goddess Athena as the judge and the avenging Furies as prosecutors, ultimately reshaping the concept of justice for both gods and mortals. This adaptation by Yuri Rasovsky, based on Ian Johnston's translation, is complemented by an excerpt from Blackstone's dramatization of The Odyssey.
