Summer of the Mariposas

In Summer of the Mariposas, a magical retelling of The Odyssey, Odilia and her four sisters embark on an epic journey after discovering a dead body in a swimming hole. Their mission to return the body to its family in Mexico leads them through challenges fueled by supernatural forces, including the ghostly La Llorona and a menacing witch with her Evil Trinity. As they navigate a world filled with mystical creatures and trials, Odilia and her sisters must ultimately confront their greatest test: the return to reality without the aid of gods and ghosts. This story celebrates sisterhood and the strength of maternal love, all against a backdrop of rich Mexican American culture.
