The Route of Ice and Salt

In this reimagining of Dracula's voyage to England, "The Demeter" narrates an ordinary journey from Varna to Whitby, laden with fifty boxes of Transylvanian soil. The captain, grappling with desires for his crew and dreams that blur reality, finds his routine disrupted by strange nightmares and ominous signs. As unsettling events unfold, a dark presence begins to haunt the ship, weaving themes of Gothic imagery and queer longing throughout the narrative.
