In a dystopian 22nd century Europe, demographic shifts have led to a grim reality where Islam dominates, and traditional values have been extinguished. Atheism is eradicated, and remaining Christians endure oppression, having lost their rights and freedoms, while young girls like Petra, sold into slavery and prostitution to pay their family's taxes, yearn for a better life. With her grandmother's diary as her guide, Petra learns of a distant hope—America, a place she dreams of escaping to in search of freedom and a chance at a new life.
