The Judas Rose

In the second volume of the Native Tongue trilogy, first published in 1984, the secret language Láadan emerges as a powerful tool for women resisting patriarchal oppression. Female linguists undertake the significant task of translating the Bible into Láadan, while Roman Catholic nuns work to disseminate the language. However, the movement faces dire threats as outraged priests employ a double agent to infiltrate and undermine their efforts.
