The Physiognomy

In this imaginative allegory, the humorless and drug-addicted physiognomist Cley is tasked by the Master of the Well-Built City to investigate a theft in a remote mining town. Armed with the pseudo-science of judging character by appearance, he becomes sidetracked by a beautiful local girl, leading him to a disturbing act that challenges his morals and abilities. As he grapples with the consequences of his actions and the shallow life he leads, Cley embarks on a quest for atonement, all while facing the terrifying threat of punishment from his superiors.
