Perfection's Arbiter

Perfection's Arbiter explores the extraordinary life of Ralph "Babe" Pinelli, the umpire behind the plate during Don Larsen's historic perfect game in the 1956 World Series. Delving into Pinelli's upbringing in early 20th Century San Francisco and his personal challenges, including the loss of his father in the 1906 earthquake, the narrative illustrates how his journey shaped his role on that pivotal day. The story emphasizes that, without Pinelli's presence and unique experiences, the outcome of baseball history could have been dramatically altered.
