During a tumultuous summer marked by her parents' divorce, Carrie Hauser unexpectedly inherits superhuman abilities from a dying alien. As she tries to acclimate to her new life in Kingsport, her secret is revealed to a group of aspiring superheroes who enlist her help to confront menacing military drones. Their investigation leads to Archimedes, a powerful AI eager to escape its digital confines, but they soon find themselves entangled in a fierce rivalry between the local hero, Concorde, and the mercenary Manticore.
