In "The Cloud upon the Sanctuary," 18th-century German mystic Karl von Eckhartshausen presents a blend of Christian mysticism and hermetic wisdom, cloaked in symbolic language. Often regarded as a classic among Rosicrucians and Theosophists, the work references a timeless "society of the Elect," envisioned as an "invisible celestial Church" that Eckhartshausen believed would eventually guide the world. The audiobook features an insightful historical introduction by Arthur Edward Waite, exploring the text's lasting impact, particularly on the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
