Agricultural Education

Agricultural Education plays a crucial role in civilization and is key to Australia's economy, particularly through the agricultural output of Victoria, which contributes significantly despite covering only three percent of the country's land. The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Melbourne, along with other institutions, has been vital in driving productivity and profitability in this sector, though its history has been marked by both achievements and challenges. Over its 110 years, the Faculty has seen a succession of 22 Deans and has evolved in response to organizational changes while recently enhancing its focus on animal sciences through collaboration with veterinary sciences.
