The Georgian Poets

Georgian poetry emerged as a distinct literary movement around 1910, coinciding with George V's ascension to the English throne. Spearheaded by Edward Marsh, who aimed to showcase contemporary verse, a series of anthologies were published between 1912 and 1922 in collaboration with Harold Munro of The Poetry Bookshop. This collection features works from approximately 40 poets, including notable figures like Rupert Brooke, GK Chesterton, and DH Lawrence, serving as a comprehensive anthology of the Georgian period.
