A Walk Through the Fire

P.I. Sharon McCone is eager to escape San Francisco's dreary weather and investigates the sabotage of a documentary being filmed in Kauai, which focuses on the writings of Hawaiian scholar Elson Wellbright. The project, funded by Wellbright's son, stirs unrest among family members opposed to its completion. As sabotage turns violent and leads to the death of the family's matriarch, McCone delves into a tangled web of family secrets, drug dealing, political intrigue, and murder.
