The Great Chicago Fire

In the aftermath of the Civil War, 18-year-old Katina Monroe escapes to Chicago, disguised as a boy named "William" to seek a new life and pursue her dreams of writing plays. While working at a small theater, she meets passionate activist Russell Cosgrove, who encourages her to help him create a shelter and school for the impoverished. As their bond deepens, Katina grapples with her identity, and a devastating fire threatens to consume their hopes and challenges them to fight for their future together.
