Homegrown

Homegrown follows three teenage boys—Howard, Mark, and Cooter—living at a Protestant children's home in the mid-1980s as they navigate their complex lives filled with longing and hope. Each boy embodies different coping mechanisms: Howard, the wise role model; Mark, the angry rebel; and Cooter, the peacemaker using humor to ease tensions. Their world is disrupted when the home begins to accept more troubled 'state kids', leading to challenges that test their bonds and stability. Framed as a flashback from 1994, the story explores Cooter's journey towards self-discovery as he confronts his past and seeks redemption.
