In an alternate 1986 where talking films are still a bold innovation, Severin Unck is the rebellious daughter of a renowned director of Gothic romances. Choosing to distance herself from her father's dramatic legacy, she embarks on a journey to create documentaries that explore the levitator cults of Neptune and the chaotic saloons of Mars. Her final project delves into the mysterious disappearance of a diving colony on Venus, inhabited by island-sized alien creatures, as she navigates her role as a realist in a fantastical universe.
