Adonais

"Adonais" is a poignant pastoral lament by Percy Bysshe Shelley, written in memory of his friend John Keats, who passed away at the young age of 25. Composed of 55 Spenserian stanzas, the poem reflects Shelley's grief and misattributed belief that Keats's death was a response to harsh criticism of his work, "Endymion." In the preface, Shelley praises "Endymion" as a masterpiece of divine craftsmanship, asserting that Keats's legacy will resonate through time as an enduring echo of light and fame.
