The Great Poets: William Wordsworth

William Wordsworth (1770-1850), a prominent figure of the Lake District, is best known for his collaboration with Coleridge on Lyrical Ballads, published in 1798. After settling in Dove Cottage, Grasmere with his sister Dorothy, he experienced a shift from the revolutionary ideals of his youth to a more conservative perspective later in life. His extensive body of poetry spans from simple lyrics to profound odes, culminating in his masterwork, The Prelude.
