Dr. Joanna Lander, a psychologist focused on near-death experiences, has spent years documenting the stories of those who have clinically died and returned. When a new neurologist, Dr. Richard Wright, devises a method to induce these experiences with a psychoactive drug, Joanna offers herself as a subject to explore the phenomenon further. However, as she undergoes the trials, she discovers unsettling connections to her past that ignite a growing sense of dread with each experience.
