Ascendant

Astrid Llewelyn, now a skilled unicorn hunter, faces a series of personal and professional challenges: her boyfriend is leaving Rome, the Cloisters is struggling financially, and her best friend's powers are fading. When offered a chance to join a scientific quest to find the Remedy, Astrid eagerly accepts, believing it might help her achieve her dreams. However, as she navigates life at Gordian headquarters in the French countryside, she begins to question her beliefs about love, loyalty, and her role as a hunter, confronting the dilemma of whether to save the world from unicorns or save the unicorns from the world.
