"Olympic Pride, American Prejudice" unearths the inspirational yet largely unknown true story of eighteen African American athletes who bravely participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games amidst the harsh realities of racism in both Nazi Germany and Jim Crow America. This gripping narrative follows their internal struggle between boycotting the event or seizing the opportunity to compete on a global stage, representing a nation that deemed them second-class citizens. Through the journeys of remarkable figures like Tidye Pickett, Mack Robinson, and Ralph Metcalfe, the audiobook explores themes of courage, resilience, and the enduring fight against prejudice, shining a spotlight on their significant yet overlooked contributions to sports and civil rights.
