Meridith Ward's carefully structured life is turned upside down when she receives a call revealing that her estranged father has died, leaving her as the guardian of his three children. Journeying to Nantucket, she discovers the siblings living in a crumbling Bed & Breakfast, and with plans to soon pass guardianship to their uncle, her intention to leave is complicated by the arrival of a mysterious handyman, Jake. As she grapples with the challenge of caring for the children and the state of the inn, she faces the possibility that embracing a life of love and risk might be exactly what she needs.
