After Narrative

This book explores Alasdair MacIntyre’s critique of our moral vocabulary, examining how words can be preserved even when their original meaning has eroded. It dissects his proposal that human lives are best understood as stories, emphasizing that identity arises from overlapping social communities rather than a single, fragmented self. The author uses MacIntyre’s own tools to question the notion of moral truth, suggesting instead that personal coherence depends on the continuous crossing and interaction between different worlds, with integrity revealed at these intersections.
