The Air Debt

In "The Air Debt," a richly imagined sci-fi world depicts Mars as a cultivated, resource-rich planet under strict corporate control, where its inhabitants live underground and are burdened with debt for essential resources like oxygen. The story follows Ines Duarte, a supervisor responsible for Martian harvests, as she uncovers a hidden contractual clause that could alter the balance of power between worlds. As tensions mount and a crisis unfolds, the novel explores themes of hunger, debt, systemic cruelty, and the fight for freedom through acts of resistance that challenge the very machinery of oppression.
