Dear Thorns

Set against the backdrop of South Texas's ranchlands, "Dear Thorns" follows Lora, a dedicated wildlife refuge worker, as she becomes entangled in a complex romance with a much younger intern while caring for the elusive Texas ocelot. The narrative explores themes of ecological preservation, human relationships, and the tensions within a changing wilderness, all rendered with sharp prose and subtle humor. Through Lora’s personal and professional journey, the novel examines the impact of human actions on the natural world and the resilience of idealism in a compromised environment.
