The People's Detective

In "The People’s Detective," investigative journalist Aurora Jenkins delves into the dark world of sex trafficking and missing women in Oakland, only to encounter powerful forces determined to silence her. Former detective Sonny Trueheart is drawn into the case, uncovering a sprawling criminal conspiracy with the help of allies from diverse backgrounds. Blending noir detective elements with martial arts action and urban grit, the story sheds light on under-reported issues facing Black communities in the Bay Area and marks the beginning of the Sonny Trueheart Mystery series.
