The Dream Woman

On the eve of his birthday, Francis Raven experiences a haunting vision of a woman with a knife, which leaves a lasting impression. Years later, he meets Alicia Warlock, who resembles the woman from his dream, leading to a complex relationship marked by unsettling behavior and questions of fate. Told through multiple narrators, the story blends psychological suspense, Gothic elements, and supernatural themes as it explores obsession and the unsettling possibility that dreams may hold deeper truths. Originally published in 1855 as The Ostler, this expanded version by Wilkie Collins deepens the mystery and atmosphere.
