Women Romantic Poets 6

Published in 1836, The Birthday was highly praised as a reflective and insightful look into the early life of a creative mind, blending wit, poignancy, and sharp criticism of injustice. Known for its innovative style, it is often seen as a precursor to Wordsworth’s The Prelude. The collection also features a diverse selection of Caroline Bowles Southey’s shorter poems from different stages of her career.
