My Life: Richard Wagner's Complete Autobiography, 1813–1864 (Annotated)

This edition presents the complete 1911 English translation of Richard Wagner’s autobiographical account, dictated to Cosima von Bulow from 1865 until 1864, covering his early life, financial struggles, and personal relationships. The narrative offers a candid look at his experiences up to the moment he was rescued from debt by a Bavarian king, after which he ceased speaking about his later years. Accompanying the memoir is a critical afterword analyzing Wagner's financial dealings and a full biography, providing additional context for his life story.
