Book Lady of the Bayou

During the Great Depression, Lily Bee Davis leaves college to bring books and hope to rural Mississippi through a WPA program, traveling by horseback to reach isolated families. Her journey introduces her to Evie, a young girl, and Lamar Stewart, a once-promising pianist struggling with grief and isolation on his family estate. As Lily Bee's visits bring kindness and connection, she begins to influence Lamar’s ability to confront his loneliness and rediscover hope.
