Cross del Cruz, a former Compliance Enforcer for the Shifter Council, now seeks solitude in his mountain cabin, away from the complexities of his past duties and the shifter world. His peaceful life is disrupted when Mae Forester, a close family figure, asks for his help, reminding him of the bonds he still values. Unexpectedly, he also meets Ariadne Fueller, whose presence challenges his quiet existence and leaves him questioning his solitude.
