The Cossacks

The Cossacks are often depicted as formidable mounted warriors, known for their distinctive attire and weaponry, including the shashka and nagyka. While their origins remain somewhat mysterious, their reputation as fierce fighters has persisted through history and into modern conflicts. Recently, the Cossacks have played notable roles in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, with both Ukrainian nationalists and Russian forces incorporating Cossacks into their narratives and actions.
