Ancillary Sword

Breq, a former spaceship-turned-soldier, is tasked with protecting the family of a murdered lieutenant at Athoek Station, a place under the Empire’s control for centuries. As she navigates the station’s tense social dynamics, lingering old divisions, and a restless AI, the presence of the alien Presger adds an element of uncertainty. The story explores themes of justice, loyalty, and the complexities of a seemingly “civilized” society.
