Gideon the Cutpurse

After an encounter with an anti-gravity machine, Peter Schock and Kate Dyer are transported to 18th-century London, where a criminal named the Tar Man steals the device and vanishes into the underworld. As a police hunt unfolds in the present day for missing children, the time-traveling duo must navigate dangerous past events to track down the criminal. Along the way, they receive assistance from Gideon Seymour, a reformed cutpurse, as they pursue their perilous quest.
