The Way of the Hermit

In The Way of the Hermit, Ken Smith, a seventy-four-year-old who has spent over forty years living alone in the Scottish Highlands, shares his life story of embracing solitude and nature. Living without electricity or running water, he sustains himself through fishing, chopping wood, and other self-sufficient practices at his remote cabin near Loch Treig. Through reflections on his journey from working-class origins to a life deeply rooted in the wilderness, Smith offers a humorous, thoughtful, and inspiring glimpse into a secluded existence shaped by independence and a profound connection to the natural world.
