Believing the Lie

Detective Inspector Lynley is asked by business magnate Bernard Fairclough to discreetly review the circumstances surrounding his nephew's death, which the coroner rules as accidental. Hoping for some respite from personal tragedy, Lynley travels to the Lake District with colleagues to investigate, while his colleague Barbara Havers contributes her own perspective from afar. As Lynley delves into the lives of the Fairclough family, he uncovers a web of motives, deceit, and betrayal hidden within the close-knit community.
