The Secrets of the Chess Machine

Set in Vienna in 1770, this story follows Baron Wolfgang von Kempelen as he presents his remarkable invention, The Mechanical Turk, a seemingly unbeatable chess automaton. Beneath its dazzling exterior, the machine is a clever illusion controlled from within by the Italian dwarf Tibor. When a countess's mysterious death occurs near the automaton, they become entangled in a web of espionage, intrigue, and hidden secrets, raising questions about the true power behind the machine.
