Socrates Blackwing, a wizard, warrior, and bounty hunter, is assigned to Tacoma in 2070 to evaluate its inhabitants and identify potential interplanar threats. Stationed against his wishes and in a time far from his own, Socrates faces the challenge of balancing his magical skills with the advanced technology of the future.
